It’s been a busy month for Anywhere Working’s partner Microsoft as they launched the latest version of Windows – optimised for the mobile way of working, whether its for your phone, tablet, laptop or desktop.
Windows 8 is the latest software and it is quite different to what you’re used to. With a touch friendly start menu combined with powerful desktop style apps; it is an essential upgrade. And at £24.99 to upgrade, you can hardly say no!
One of the new things to check out on Windows 8 is the app marketplace. We’ve been looking at some of the best apps available right now that we think are great downloads. Check them out:
1. Skype
Use the most popular video chat service to hold your business calls for free. You can of course use it for friends and family too. The app docks to the side so you can run other apps whilst holding a conversation.
One Note of course comes with Windows 8 as standard, but if you use Evernote already then you’ll be pleased to know it is in the store now and looking pretty dashing!
3. Invoice 360
This app could prove to be a great time saver, with set templates ready installed and the ability to customise and set your own templates. If you work for yourself or run your own business, this is the app for you.
4. Meeting Money
Not a fan of holding meetings? Think they are a waste of time? Well, they aren’t always, but if you feel strongly about it then use this app which counts the overall cost and per second cost of holding a meeting. After seeing this, the boss may not want to have that after-meeting catch-up after all!
It can’t all be about work, you need time to relax too and Angry Birds is the go to game to really kill some time (and some of those pesky pigs). The app looks great on a Microsoft Surface.
