Top places for flexible workers to drink coffee: London

Regular flexible workers will already have their favourite coffee shops to go work in, but if you’re anything like us, then you will always be looking for somewhere new.

So as part of a new feature on Anywhere Working, we’re going to be reviewing some of our favourite places to drink coffee. This week we’re looking at the capital’s best coffeeshops. All of these have wi-fi, so they’re perfect to grab a coffee and get some work done.

The Troubadour, Earl’s Court

263-267 Old Brompton Road. Nearest station – Earl’s Court.
The Troubadour has had a remarkable history since it opened its doors in the 50s; including being home to one of Bob Dylan’s first ever UK gigs, in 1962. At night, The Troubadour plays host to up and coming artists, bands, and poets, but in the daytime, it’s a great hangout for drinking coffee and grabbing a bite to eat.

Anderson & Co., Peckham

139 Bellenden Road. Nearest station – Peckham Rye.

Many parts of south-east London have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to great coffee shops, but Anderson & Co really hits the nail on the head. As well as brilliant (Square Mile) coffee, Anderson & Co also have a regularly updated food menu offering great offerings at affordable prices that you won’t see north of the river.

Dose Espresso, Barbican

70 Long Lane. Nearest station – Barbican.

Dose Espresso on the south-east corner of Smithfields market is a real gem and worth travelling to if you’re anywhere in the City. Dose use Square Mile coffee, source purely-organic food and dairy, and regularly offer guest coffees.

Camera Cafe, Bloomsbury

44 Museum Street. Nearest station – Holborn.

The Camera Cafe, which is attached to a camera shop, is all about great atmosphere (and great wi-fi). This will be a natural hotspot for any flexible workers who like photography but is also definitely worth a visit even if you don’t. Plus, their website has a retro feel to it that is frankly charming.

Check out the Camera Cafe website, or their Facebook here (no Twitter!).

Camden Coffee House, Camden

30 Camden Road. Nearest station – Camden.

The Camden Coffee House was born out of the desire to provide better quality coffee to Londoners after founder Sunni spent three years travelling the world, drinking great coffees and teas. A noble vision turned into a great reality with the Camden Coffee House, which now also has sister cafes in Balham and Croydon. The Camden one’s our favourite, and it even has a coffee garden.
