Sarah designs and makes her own chocolates at a small production facility in Cumbernauld and sells them under her brand name, Miss COCO.
Sarah, who was crowned Miss Earth Scotland 2009 spent 12 months as an ambassador promoting environmental awareness for a clean, natural and healthy environment. Her experiences have played an instrumental role in helping her define her Miss COCO chocolate brand.
“As Miss EarthScotland, I’ve been taken to places that I would never have otherwise been able to visit and I’ve tried to infuse some of that glamour and sparkle in my chocolates. I use different-coloured chocolate and edible glitter to decorate my chocolates. There are also over 20 luxury varieties to choose from which are guaranteed to delight even the most ardent chocolate fans!”
Sarah believes keeping an up to date website is vital to the success of her business and writes a blog and adds recipes on an on-going basis. She also has a presence on social platforms Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
The recently launched “Miss COCO Chocolate Masterclass”, sees Sarah travelling to customers to hold parties where scrumptious chocolates, lollies and chocolate cocktails are made. It’s essential for her to keep in touch with enquiries and customers via mobile technology.
Miss COCO chocolates are available to buy via the websites and are also available in selected boutiques throughout Glasgow and for weddings, events and corporate clients.
In 2011, Sarah won the PSYBT/BT Scotland Young entrepreneurs Awards for Most Visionary Business.
