Setting-up your own flexible working space

By

The Anywhere Working team has a list (currently in our heads) of various flexible working spaces that we particularly love or have experienced and use regularly but what’s stopping us setting-up our own flexible working space? Nothing. Quite often we do it regularly at our Anywhere Working events and you can do it too! So what do you need?

A space: the quirkier the better we believe. If the space is a comfortable setting to work from all day then it has the thumbs up - running water, lights and electricity are musts! Why not turn a daytime dead space into a live space during the day?

WiFi/ MiFi: ensure that your chosen space is connected up with internet by testing a reliable WiFi connection or getting your hands on a MiFi device.

Tools: A good workman never blames his tools but we do think you need a few of the basics: a desk, a chair, a mug and some coffee.

People: If you’ve got a good flexible working space available, there will be plenty of people in your area that will want to know about it. Spread the word on social media, word-of-mouth, your local paper or the window of the newsagents.

Personality: anyone can set-up a flexible working space but what makes each space unique is personality. Add your own charm to your space through gadgets, art, furniture and fun.

The Anywhere Working team are busy curating a list of their favourite flexible working spaces across the UK be it a dedicated work hub, a park, a library, a café or a bench, we want to know about your favourite places to add to our list.

Please tweet us a link to your favourite flexible working space and why you like it - @anywhere_work
