Re-organising your workspace to encourage productivity can be simple. All it takes is a new wallpaper.
It’s easy to overcomplicate productivity with new systems and processes. The fact is, making small, incremental changes can have a dramatic and lasting effect.
We experimented with this theory and refreshed our devices with a variety of colours, patterns and tables (even the odd utopian holiday destination). We settled on four favourites that had a positive effect on our levels of productivity.
You know what they say: an organised workspace equals an organised mind (well, possibly not, but we certainly do).
1. Quadrants
Organise your desktop into quadrants – for example: projects, document types, clients, days, months or apps. The beauty of this desktop is that it gives you freedom to organise your work in a way that suits your needs within an overarching structure.
2. Rainbows
Categorise your apps, docs, lolcats and other miscellaneous bits and bobs using this soothing rainbow-themed wallpaper.
3. Easy Access Desktop
This wallpaper is perfect if you’re using multiple programmes with images, PDFs, apps and Word docs. In other words, it’s ideal for your average busy bee with lots on their plate. The design itself leaves a little to be desired but in terms of inspiration it gets a thumbs-up from us.
4. No messing around
Not convinced? Maybe you need a more straightforward approach.
