Business in the Community
What does Anywhere Working mean to your organisation?
Business in the Community (BITC) encourages business to transform communities by tackling the key social and environmental issues where they can make a difference. Through our ways2work campaign we are enabling companies to achieve maximum productivity and resource efficiency by transforming the way they work and travel. We influence behavioural change in our member organisations, offering resources, support and mentoring to reduce the impacts of how their employees work and travel in relation to their work. Anywhere Working fully supports this.

Profit

Why is this important now?
Our transport infrastructure is overloaded at peak times, costing businesses and individuals heavily financially and socially.
The environment also suffers: 37% of CO2 emissions from transport are from work-related travel and 38% of emissions from our personal cars relates to driving for work. Congestion on our roads is estimated to cost UK businesses over £20 billion pounds per annum.
Physical inactivity costs an estimated £8.2bn a year in England, through direct costs of treating diseases linked to lack of exercise and the indirect costs of sickness absence.
